Meet Yajahira Mendez-Johnson

     As a licensed professional, I have attained a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling, a double-major Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology, and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. My aim as a bilingual professional is to personalize each client's therapeutic experience according to their individual needs. I have extensive experience working with diverse clients of all ages and am comfortable working in various settings such as outpatient therapy, in-home services, mobile crisis intervention, and many others.

          My areas of specialization include abuse, addiction, codependency, trauma, behavioral needs, and co-occurring disorders, among others. I utilize treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. Furthermore, I have received training as a Circle of Security facilitator in both Spanish and English. As an outpatient counselor, my primary focus is to utilize my training and professional experience to provide you with a safe and supportive environment to discover your strengths in a way that is personalized and effective to you and your needs.
